APA does not give specific examples for these.PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR INSTRUCTORS ON THEIR PREFERENCE FOR CITING THESE MATERIALS. We suggest the following format for handouts:

 

Example

Pederson, C. (2010). Sexual deviance [PSYC 3100 class handout]. Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

 

In-text citations (if quoting, also include the specific part of the source)

... (Sherry, 2008) ... (Pederson, 2010). 

 

Course packs

Materials in course packs that are reproduced without any changes should be cited directly. For example, if a journal article is reproduced in a course pack, cite the journal article like a regular journal article. Otherwise, treat the material as an item in an anthology, with the instructor as the editor. If the instructor is also the author of the individual item in the course pack, they will be both in the author and editor position. 

 

Example instructor as editor

Sherry, A. (2008). Internalized homophobia and adult attachment: Implications for clinical practice. In C. Pedersen (Ed.), PSYC 3100:  Custom course materials(Fall ed., pp. 65-71). Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Example instructor as author and editor

Moodle postings

If the material posted on Moodle is not created by your instructor but simply reproduced without any changes, cite that source directly. For example, if a journal article is posted, cite it like a regular journal article. For all postings created and posted by your instructor, use the template below.
