"raw" numeric data
Data is the 'raw material' that is analyzed to produce the statistics found in tables, graphs, charts, maps, etc.
Numeric data files typically feature columns and rows of numbers. Each row represents one respondent or unit of analysis. The columns contain coded responses or observations. You usually need special software such as SPSS, Beyond 20/20 or ArcGIS to work with 'raw' data.
