Research, Scholarship & Publishing at KPU

The KPU Library supports research, scholarship, and publishing by faculty, staff, and administrative employees through the provision of a variety of resources and services, including collections, databases, selected lists of websites, inter-library loan, publishing services, and training. While the Library primarily supports Open Access publishing, we also provide services and support for researchers who prefer to publish in closed access venues.

We work closely with the Office of Research and Scholarship (ORS) to support the institution’s goals in this regard.

Some specific examples of the library's support include:

• Publishing support and training through our Open Publishing Suite (OPUS)
• Copyright and licensing support and training
• Dedicated KPU Pressbooks site to host books and teaching materials
• Institutional Repository KORA to host articles, other scholarly materials, and learning objects
• Extended borrowing period for KPU Library books
• Free borrowing at most Canadian university libraries:
• Services for Research Assistants
• Research consultations by appointment with Departmental liaison librarians
  • The Library recommends that research assistants be hired to conduct lengthy research.
