Every municipality posts statistical information on its website. Some sites are very basic, while others include extensive detail.
Some municipalities are releasing data files under an open licence which allows you to do more in-depth analysis and share your findings.
Vital Signs is "an annual community check-up conducted by community foundations across Canada that measures the vitality of our communities, identifies significant trends, and assigns grades in a range of areas critical to quality of life. Vital Signs is coordinated nationally by Community Foundations of Canada."
