  • Using PsycINFO to find a Graduate School

When you find a current study in your research area of interest, you can use the Author Affiliation search field to find schools and research bodies that have researchers focused on that area of research when the paper was published.

The video below will explain and guide you through the PsycINFO search process.

Don't forget to check the University websites of the schools you are applying to for grant, award or scholarship money.

Consider getting a student membership to professional organizations. Some of these organization offer scholarships and they can also be a good place to network to find other grant, education, volunteer or career opportunities! Click on the Associations tab from the Websites page of this guide to find some of these professional organizations.

Talk to your instructors or reach out to leading researchers in the areas of psychology you want to study and ask if they would be willing to do an informational interview. They'll be able to give you ideas of what the work you are interested in is really like, and perhaps some suggestions for grant or work experience opportunities in those fields of study.
