Psychology

This guide is your starting place for research in the field of psychology.

Welcome to this Psychology Research Page for Cluny South's PSYC 1100 class!

I've gathered together some resources on this page that will make things a bit easier to find an article to use to successfully complete the Moodle Library Research Assignment. You will also find information and links about APA and how to get help from the Library. The tutorial you complete in Moodle will provide more detailed information about the research process and evaluating peer-reviewed articles.

For the Moodle tutorial you must find an article which is

  • An empirical study
  • from a peer-reviewed journal
  • related to object recognition and perception
  • published between 2016-2018
  • retrieved from the PsycINFO database
  • Must have been cited 5 or more times by other articles in the database

Searching PsycINFO

Quick Search Tips

  • enter different search terms into separate search boxes
  • Use the filters in the left column to limit to
    • peer reviewed
    • published between 2016-2018
    • empirical (research) studies (under Methodology)
  • Look for the number beside Times Cited in this Database to see if an article has been cited by others 5+ times (this information isn't available for every article, so you won't always see it).

There is a link to the PsycINFO database below if you are ready to search. You can also look at a screenshot of the database search a bit further down.
