How Do I Pickup & Return Equipment?

During Library open hours, pick up and return your equipment and DVDs/videos at the Equipment Desk in the Library.

Outside of Library Open Hours

Discuss your pick up or return needs with the campus Equipment Desk staff in advance.  We'll need to know the building and room number where the equipment or DVD/video will be used.  The Library will coordinate after hours pick up and returns with Facilities and Security staff.

Surrey Only

To facilitate the use of equipment in Cedar Building, employees only can borrow equipment from the Equipment Closets.

  • When the Library is open, pick up closet keys in the Library.
  • Keys are available 15 minutes prior to the start of your booking.
  • After the booking, return the equipment to the closet and return the keys to the Library.
  • If your booking ends after Library hours, return the equipment to the closet and return the key to the outdoor book bin located outside the Library.

Return Equipment to a Different Campus

If you need to return your equipment to a campus other than where you picked it up, discuss this with the Equipment Desk staff in advance of picking up your equipment so arrangements can be made.

It's Broken!

Please let us know if you discover the equipment is not working as it should.

How Do I Renew Equipment?

Contact the Equipment Desk by phone or in person at the campus where you borrowed the equipment.

Equipment can be renewed one time depending upon availability.  To avoid overdue fines, call and request to renew the equipment before it is due.

External Groups & Equipment

Refer to the Use of University Facilities by External Groups page for definitions of various external groups.

External Groups must either have a current KPU employee as a contact to book and borrow Library Equipment for them.  Or, they must request equipment through Room Bookings in advance.  Room Bookings will consult with the Equipment Desk to discuss availability of equipment and arrangements for pickup and delivery.

KPU employees hosting an internal event or meeting can request, borrow and pickup equipment directly from the Equipment Desk.

Loan Periods, Fines, Responsibility

Your Responsibility

Never leave equipment, DVDS or videos unattended, even in a classroom.  You will be required to assume full financial responsibility for any damage or loss of equipment, DVDs, or videos on loan to you.

DVDs and videos are 3 day loans with 1 renewal permitted.  Longer loans are possible, check with staff at the Equipment Desk for details.

Equipment loan periods vary depending upon the equipment and availability.  Check with staff at the Equipment Desk for details.

Fines for overdue equipment and DVDs/videos are $2.00 per day, per item.
