Kwantlen Seed Library

A shareable collection of locally grown, open-source seeds available to all members of the Kwantlen community.

Welcome to the Kwantlen Seed Library

The Kwantlen Seed Library is a project of Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Langley campus library. Our mission is to promote food security in our community through the preservation and exchange of locally grown and harvested seeds. We believe in keeping heirloom and open-pollinated varieties alive, in an effort to promote a more sustainable and biologically diverse food system. We also believe that in retaining the right to grow our own food, save seeds, and share our knowledge with one another, we can help to make a positive change towards a sustainable future.

Please visit the Kwantlen Seed Library, borrow some seeds, and remember to return a donation of seeds after harvest.

The Seed Library is located in the Langley campus library of Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Please note that during the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no access to the seed library. Check back here for an update to our library opening hours. If you receive a notice from us reminding you to bring a donation of seeds back to the Library, please hold onto them until we are ready to open up again! Hopefully, this will be in time for some spring planting.
