GIS software

GIS is short for Geographic Information System.

GIS software allows you to analyze and display information geographically, and produce maps.

ArcGIS

ArcGIS is installed on all KPU Library Student Stations and in classroom labs Surrey Cedar 1045 and Langley 2090.

ArcGIS is the industry standard GIS software from ESRI.

QGIS

Not installed on any public workstations at KPU

Free, open-source alternative to ArcGIS. Works on multiple platforms.

GRASS
Open source.
ArcGIS Online (Public Account)
Create a map that can be viewed in a browser, desktop or mobile device. Share it on a blog, via email, or embed it in a website.

SimplyAnalytics This link opens in a new window
SimplyAnalytics is a web-based mapping and data-visualization application that allows users to create interactive maps, charts, and reports. It contains over 75,000 variables on business, socio-demographics, and economics that can be mapped to any geographic area of Canada. Map and analyze data on diverse topics like demographics, consumer spending, brand preference, employment, public health, etc.
Please note there is a limit of 5 simultaneous users.
