This dataset is a custom tabulation of the Canadian Business Counts product from the Business Register, that includes: establishment counts by dissemination area, 6-digit NAICS and employment size range. Datasets are available for December 2007-2022 and June 2013-2022. This product was formerly known as Canadian Business Patterns. The data is broken down to a much more detailed geographic level than the standard version of Canadian Business Counts. It shows establishment counts by Dissemination Area (DA), rather than Census Subdivision (city) level. A DA is smaller than a Census Tract, and typically includes between 400-700 people. Formerly Canadian Business Patterns. Indicates the number of businesses, and employees, in a particular industry and area. Not very detailed: only goes to 2-digit NAICS level and Census Subdivision (i.e. city). Updated twice a year. Available for KPU users to download from the Statistics Canada Rich Data Services (RDS) platform.
