MLA Citation: Images, Videos, PowerPoint, Music ...

Audiovisual media

  • Author: if the author of the web page is a corporate author (corporation, association, public institution, etc.), then OMIT the author element to avoid redundancy; give the institution's name only in the publisher slot (see BC Ferries example). However, if the web site name is basically the same as the author and the publisher, then omit both the author and the publisher
  • Title: if there is no title, create one in regular script (as in the Tugnoli example)
  • Optional: you may add a descriptive label at the end of the citation, for example Infographic (as in the BC Ferries example

IMAGES IN PRINT SOURCES (books, etc.)

Refer to the image in the text, e.g. like this:

Just like cemeteries, trees lend themselves to create the feeling of eeriness, especially when a grey colour palette is used. Painting Ghosts in a Tree by Franz Sedlacek is one such example  (Spindler and Strohhammer, fig. 5, p. 75).

The works cited list entry would be for the book as usual:

Spindler, Gabriele, and Andreas Strohhammer. Franz Sedlacek: 1891-1945: Monografie mit Verzeichnis der Gemälde. Brandstätter, 2011.
