Two Authors or Editors

RULE: If you are citing from two works by the same author, and the works were published in the same year, you need to distinguish to which of the works you are referring by adding the letters a, b, c, etc. to the year in your in-text citation. 


EXAMPLE:

 

  • Koriat (2008a) discovered that .... Other research showed .... (Koriat, 2008b). 
  • In the reference list, arrange the entries alphabetically by the title. In our example, as E is before S in the alphabet, so the work "Easy comes..." will be the first of the two entries by Koriat, and the year will get the letter a (see references on the left).
