As KPU Library transitions back to services on campus for Fall 2021, we want to provide you with an overview of what to expect as we move forward. This is the best page to keep updated on what services we provide as we transition back to campus.
This page builds upon our current services and procedures. We recognize there may be some confusion as we modify our services and communications. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via our remote contact options on our Ask Us page.
As we transition back on campus, we ask that visitors continue to adhere to University policies and recommendations while in our spaces. KPU has stated that "At KPU, we strongly recommend anyone working, studying or visiting campus to continue wearing masks on campus through the Summer semester. "
This is the most current information on what services are available at the library and how to access them. We will update this page as more services become available. Please check this guide often, as well as KPU's Return to Campus page for the most up to date information.
We want to thank the KPU community for their patience and understanding now and throughout the pandemic. Your adherence to our procedures has helped maintain a safe and usable space for visitors and employees!
The KPU Library Laptop Loan Program will not be offered in the beginning of Fall 2021.
This program was a response to help support our students during the pandemic. Unfortunately, the laptops we used for this initiative will not be available after summer semester for this service. We are investigating ways in which to offer this program again.
We regret and recognize that this may impact our students. We will have a select number of laptops available for daily loan which will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We also have computers available at all our campus libraries, and our hours of operation will expand for the fall semester. Keep an eye on kpu.ca/library for updates.
Instructors who wish to place material on Course Reserve may now submit requests for fall semester.
Course Reserves will only be offered starting September 7, 2021.
You can still request online access to the library collection for your course using Link.Scan.Open, our library service which provides direct links, scanned PDFs, or assistance finding open educational resources for your course readings. The benefit of using L.S.O. is that your students all have access to the material, rather than the limitation of one copy at the Course Reserves counter.
You may now submit booking requests for equipment for fall semester using this form. Bookings will be offered for dates starting September 7, 2021. Equipment is not being lent over the Service Counter or in-person until September 7th.

KPU students and employees can once again browse our bookshelves and select material to borrow from the library.
Re-opening the collection coincides with no longer needing to book appointments for the Service Desk, which was previously needed for pick-up requests.
Appointments are no longer necessary to receive help at our Service Desks. Our previous pandemic procedures called for appointments to do things like pick up requests for books and KPU cards and returning equipment.
For service, simply line up at our Service Desks. Don't forget your KPU Card!
Along with our physical collection, all library common space is also re-opened. This means that library users have full access to general study space. Currently, our study rooms are not available for use while we review KPU pandemic procedures and policies.
